Ayurveda has a long tradition behind it, having originated in India perhaps as much as 3,000 years ago. Today it remains a favoured form of health care in large parts of the Eastern world, especially in India, where a large percentage of the population uses this system exclusively or combined with modern medicine. Looking at Indian History: Ayurveda is attributed directly to Dhanvantari, a great physician as per Hindu mythology; who received this knowledge from Brahma. Its earliest concepts were set out in the portion of the Vedas known as the Atharvaveda (c. 2nd millennium BCE). The herbs recommended for treatment are numerous. The main treatments included fever, cough, diarrhoea, dropsy, abscesses, seizures, tumors and skin diseases.

As Ayurveda translates to knowledge of life. Based on the idea that disease is due to an imbalance or stress in a person's consciousness, Ayurveda encourages certain lifestyle interventions and natural therapies to regain a balance between the body, mind, spirit, and the environment. So some of the remedies to boost immunity during winters as my recommendation:

  1. Saffron Tea

This is one of the important spice from the Vale of Kashmir. It has innumerous benefits as it not only acts as an antioxidant but Improves mood & treats depressive symptoms, it Reduces PMS symptoms, Reduces Heart Diseases and Regulates Blood Sugar Levels to name a few. So this winter ditch your everyday green tea and try Saffron Tea Instead.

  1. Dry Fruit Mix

We all have seen our mothers give us dry fruits mixed in milk during winters, but ever thought why? Well...Consistent mix of Almonds, Pistachio, Cashew, Cardamom and Saffron is one of the most nutritious premix one can use. Suffusing enough calories to boost your overall immunity and wellbeing along with muscle build.

Ahem! Where are your proton shake buddies at now? You know most of the oils we know or ever hear of can be both usable and consumable. Popular ones apart from Almond oil which we all have heard as per me are –

Walnut Oil

We must have had walnut at least once in our life. But ever used its oil? You need to try it now as it’s like a one stop solution we all ever asked for in our day to day life. This oil when rightly made, Boosts Skin Health, Decreases Inflammation, Regulates Blood. Pressure & Cholesterol and Regulates Blood Sugar.

Apricot Oil

We all know apricot. But ladies this oil is epically something you need to try this winters. As it nourishes our skin, acts as anti ageing, fights acne, has anti inflammatory properties and acts as a replenishing scrub mix. Finally end of the day with so much stress around us don’t we wish we had some therapy right at home. So the final remedy it is.

Lavender Oil

One of the most versatile oils available to us, its considered one of the best therapeutic essential oil. It can be used in both concentrated and diluted firms. It’s easily diluted by mixing in other oils or water. Now as I mentioned home therapy, this oil Reduces Anxiety & Improves Sleep, Heals Burns, Alleviates Headaches, Improves Eczema and Fights scarring.

Hope you guy try some of these this winter and elevate your overall heath with Ayurveda.
